Wonderful place for family outing! Ad a group of 8 families with more than 10 kids, we spent a fun filled afternoon at the beach. 1/3 of the beach is very shallow (1.5 ft deep?) Even my 20 months can go in and cruise around. The deep section is about 1.6m, good for bigger kids or adults. Beach has lifeguards, a box full of toys where guests can borrow. And it was not too crowded!!Picnic tables are available. There were animators part of the day (check their schedule).There is an entrance fee AND a small parking fee. But given the quality of the place and proximity (1/2 hr from Champlain bridge/dix30 area), i think it's still worth it.
We biked here from nuns island. It took us around 45 minutes and it is a great ride, highly recommended. Park is also great and around its west section has narrow paths that are quite cozy. There is also a beach here, it was empty for now since it is still not warm enough, but seems wonderful.
Nice clean beach on a pond. Well maintained facilities, lots of room. Cantine on site. A little expensive with $6 parking, $11 entry, $7 for kids.
Great bicycle ride from Verdun. Relax and clean. Great for wildlife and Wonderful photo opportunities.
Good: 1.It's a great location. The scenery is beautiful, near the rapids on the St. Lawrence River with bike trails that lead to Montreal and elsewhere. Theres a beach and a boating area where you can rent a kayak or paddleboard or bring your own. 2.The campsites are well-designed, very private and level with a wooden platform and spacious storage box for securing food and gear. 3.The pavilion is attractive and comfortable with friendly, helpful staff, good services and showers. The snack bar has some good options although it has limited hours.Dislike: 1.It's a long walk from the parking to the campsite. The park provides luggage carts but its not convenient. It should be possible to drive the car closer to the site so you could load and unload gear and then take the car back to the lot.2.Campfires are one of the aspects of camping that we usually enjoy. Not here. The fire pits are excessively deep. There is not enough airflow to the fire, making it difficult to get it started and keep it going, and its hard to see the fire all the way down there in the deep pit. The fire pit is in a communal area by a shelter with four bright lights that are unnecessary, couldnt be switched off and interfered with our enjoyment of the fire and natural surroundings. At 11 pm a park staff member came by and asked us to put out the fire. It felt like bed check. 3.The parking lot is gated and locked after 8:30 pm so you cant get in or out. We needed to go out to get food for dinner after returning on the bike path from visiting Montreal for the day.
